We see celebrities flash a perfect smile and straight teeth on the red carpet all the time and wonder what they have done for God to bless them with such a perfect set of teeth. For some celebrities, its really no mystery. The straight teeth and picture-perfect smiles are not by birth, but by braces. Good genes play a huge role, but there is no discounting the workmanship and skill of the celebrities' orthodontist at one point in his/her life. Here are some celebrities who were not born, but were made to have perfect smiles.

* Faith Hill

Faith Hill is an American country pop singer and occasional actress. She was spotted wearing retainers at the Grammy Awards in 2003. She revealed that she had braces as a kid.

* Nicholas Cage

Nicholas Cage is an American actor and producer known for his roles in movies such as Kick-Ass and Ghost Rider. He was spotted wearing braces on his lower teeth at the 2003 Writers Guild Awards.

* Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani is an American singer, songwriter, actress and fashion designer. In 1999, she boldy flashed her braces and was quoted as saying that braces was the first thing she would do when she got rich.

* Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is an American actor and filmmaker who has acted in several Hollywood blockbusters such as Mission Impossible, Jerry Maguire, The Last Samurai, Edge of Tomorrow, Vanilla Sky, Oblivion and Minority Report. He made adjustments to his teeth in 2002 and was spotted with invisible brackets and a regular wire on the red carpet.

* Khloe Kardashian

In 2013, Khloe decided to engage in orthodontic treatment. This took the form of clear plastic invisaligns to help her shift her teeth. Dr Sands, Khloe's Orthodontist, explained that the invisaligns helped Khloe to perfect her teeth which were slightly crooked.
